Welcome to the Monk

We are a very small, family owned and run, independent  restaurant and bar, set in a beautiful, thatched 16th century cottage in the middle of Quorn.

Conversation, good food, a classic and quirky drinks lists, a ghost and some cracking wines  await.

We look forward to seeing you soon. 

Book a Table

As we are very small, please call 01509 412222 for any booking enquiries for  more than 8 people

We welcome people in for drinks, though don't take bookings, for drinks only, in advance.  please pop in and, if we have space, we'll be happy to host you
Please do note that we are a no smoking venue, due to being a thatched property, though you're welcome to smoke at the tables outside the front
We are, sadly unable to accommodate toddlers and babies in the evenings, though Sundays are very much a family affair
Although we love them, we are not able to host our canine friends

Simon asks that his many friends kindly book through the website and then drop him a note, as he'd be really upset if he missed any texts / messages requesting a booking, due to age related factors!!

Opening hours

Everyone is welcome to pop in for a cocktail, beer or glass of wine, though, in consideration of our neighbours, we do close our doors to walk in customers at 10:30pm. 
We absolutely love dogs, though we are just too small to accommodate them comfortably!!


Monday - closed. Gives our small team a chance to rest as well as plan for the week


Tuesday- Thursday 530pm - 11pm

Friday and Saturday - 530pm - 1130pm

Food service times Wednesday - Saturday  545 - 9PM

Sunday - 12pm - 7pm (food served 12-4pm)

A focus on quality and value for money 

Our new menus, for spring, are out and the focus is very much on  quality, with everything crafted in house, from scratch, by our small team of chefs and using our supplier partners and their expertise. We have been very mindful that we continue to be exceptional value for money - making a degree of luxury and glamour affordable, even in these extraordinary, inflationary times 

Above all, enjoy a night out - away from all the 's**t, doom and gloom b*ll***s' that we're being constantly bombarded with!!!

(A huge 'thank you' to our extremely gracious friends who were a bit chilly during the  exceptional and brutally cold weather in mid December - you all know we tried our very best ('bah humbug', to the very, very tiny minority, who were rather unpleasant about it all - we'll hone our weather control skills for next year and let you know, in advance, when we plan the next big freeze)
