We are a small, independent restaurant and bar run and owned by our family. We’re a busy place (Booking is highly recommended, especially at weekends), with a cracking atmosphere, yet intimate at the same time. Set in a stunning 16th-century cottage with tons of character, The Monk is a relaxed dining restaurant in Quorn, where everything is made in-house, with a menu that changes to reflect seasonality!

At The Monk, we like to keep things relaxed, yet efficient. We’re a small team and everyone does their bit to look after our diners–it’s hard to enjoy even the best food without equally good service! Have a look here to read a little more about us.
We welcome children, though we would expect our younger friends to order from the main menus, as we don't have a separate children's offering.
As we are a very small, intimate venue we are sadly unable to accommodate babies or toddlers in the evenings; though all are welcome on Sundays.
Sadly and again, as we are so small, we are not able to accommodate dogs.
what’s on the menu
food
We’re always trying to keep things fresh for you, so our menus are always changing. You can see what’s on at the moment here–it’s a prix fixe offering, Tuesday to Thursday ( with additional an additional steak offering on Wednesday and seafood on Thursdays) and a la carte Friday and Saturday. Sunday lunch is incredibly popular, served from 12-4pm. We’re closed on Mondays (thank God).
We would very kindly and respectfully ask (In light of strict allergen guidelines), that guests do not bring their own food into the restaurant; this would include birthday cakes - we have a separate menu of home made desserts and we spoil our birthday guests with a wonderful birthday plate, free of charge!!

Bottle of wine with dinner (check out our latest wine list here)? Crisp draft lager or pale ale? Malt whiskey, gin, brandy? One of our many classic or on trend cocktails or mocktails? Our drinks menu has taken a huge amount of practice, to date, and we update it regularly. If we have space, you’re always welcome to pop in for a drink – though at peak times, especially on Friday or Saturday we may struggle!

opening hours
everyone is welcome to pop in for a cocktail, beer or glass of wine, though, in consideration of our neighbours, we do close our doors to walk in customers at 10:30pm. We absolutely love dogs, though we are just too small to accommodate them comfortably!!
